    I really wanted to like this book I had high hopes, as I do with all things space travel and sci fi This was a gift from writer friend, and so I gave it a few chapters and then painfully trudged toward the end The language is simplistic and word choice is unbelievably distracting The author nearly lost me at a place called Hogsbreath Really And I wish writers would take Vonnegut s advice on semicolons And the author s strange, perhaps obsessive take on male sex quickly forms early on Male Grondians are the apparent repugnant surrogates for human males Okay, I get it Males are scum and some characters are described as self righteous prigs Mirror Mirror, anyone This book is like fingernails on a chalkboard And not in the fun, stomach clenching way What is worst is the non stop telling not showing, which is an egregious beginning writer mistake Lastly, who are the Feds An hour into this awful story I concluded I did not care Bottom l...
