What I liked I find it really hard to find close to accurate portrayals of Wiccans, so I was infinitely pleased when I realized that the main group of characters we follow are And it s done right There s no trying to do bad things to people because Witch is synonymous to Wiccan to some, there s one Wiccan ritual in the book Mabon and it was portrayed and explained like it is supposed to happen I was pleased by the portrayal of the Wiccan Coven I liked some of the characters as well Aaron What I liked I find it really hard to find close to accurate portrayals of Wiccans, so I was infinitely pleased when I realized that the main group of characters we follow are And it s done right There s no trying to do bad things to people because Witch is synonymous to Wiccan to some, there s one Wiccan ritual in the book Mabon and it was portrayed and explained like it is supposed to happen I was pleased by the portrayal of the Wiccan Coven I liked some of the characters as well Aaron was one of those characters who seemed to keep the reader guessing for a good bit of the time he s on the pages Especially after his introduction into the story, I actually thought he was just going to be a source of some form of antagonism but he plays a larger part than just that Eliza was a fun character when she appeared, she amused me quite a bit thoroughout the story. What I didn t like The plot moved the charactersthan the characters moved the plot This is a big issue with the book, something that I was not pleased with Some of the characters just didn t move the plot at all, and the entire end of the book was too hurried and rushed through There was little mystery to who the killer is, but we did have several loose string tied up because of the hurried ending and there really didn t seem to be much left to start a second book off of besides the main character s status as a True Witch Which, admittedly, that s likely to have a large set of consequences when it happens I would have liked to see Amber s Coven members beof a part of the story though.Overall Review Midnight Magick is an interesting idea for a book with semi interesting characters While the plot isn t all that original, the romance seems less based on attraction for Amber and Damien, and the plot was hurried in places it is carried out in an interesting way that made meinterested in the situation than the characters themselves.Recommend Mmm, no, not really The story s idea is interesting but its execution wasn t what I was exactly hoping for But, don t let me stop you from reading it

I s.I gave this book five stars because it is written from a very believable perspective As I read I felt almost as though I was there with the protagonist as she experienced trials and learned from then I came away with unique insight and what I still don t fully understand draws me further into the series.

Having read and loved Katerina s books about the witches of New Orleans, I picked this one up expecting the same writing I didn t learn until after I had finished that this was actually Martinez s first book It s been dolled up with a new cover and title.True Witch is at its heart a murder mystery with supernatural elements and college kid drama Which is quite like high school drama, to be honest The story is good I was hooked because I wanted to know who was responsible for the murders, an Having read and loved Katerina s books about the witches of New Orleans, I picked this one up expecting the same writing I didn t learn until after I had finished that this was actually Martinez s first book It s been dolled up with a new cover and title.True Witch is at its heart a murder mystery with supernatural elements and college kid drama Which is quite like high school drama, to be honest The story is good I was hooked because I wanted to know who was responsible for the murders, and I ll most likely pick up the other two books in the series All are a part of the Kindle Unlimited library to finish the story. My complaint about the book is the characters Specifically Amber herself She isn t very likeable at times, and I never really got a good feel for her or the motives behind some of her choices Without spoiling anything, there are a few scenes with her and a guy, and I couldn t for the life of me figure out why there was such a big deal made out of being so secretive and wanting to keep everyone in the dark Small quibble I guess, but things like that drive me bonkers while I m trying to immerse myself in a story Maybe we can chalk it up to the irrationality of teenagers

This is a good start to what I m sure will be an enjoyable series I already can t wait to read number 2 It s a fast paced read that introduces us to the characters and their home town, with a puzzle that sets the stage for the next book I love how much care and research obviously went into the writing of the Wiccan rituals in the novel While the flavors of paganism I m familiar with ascribe the elements to different directions and would call the quarters in a different order, the foundati This is a good start to what I m sure will be an enjoyable series I already can t wait to read number 2 It s a fast paced read that introduces us to the characters and their home town, with a puzzle that sets the stage for the next book I love how much care and research obviously went into the writing of the Wiccan rituals in the novel While the flavors of paganism I m familiar with ascribe the elements to different directions and would call the quarters in a different order, the foundation is solid and helped to make the world of the series feel evenreal to me I anticipate enjoying the next book even
