Note I received a free digital copy in exchange for my review General Impressions no spoilers I really enjoyed this book The pacing was good I loved the characters and their moral shades of gray I loved the build up of the mystery at the beginning and the quick excitement as it all fell into place I thought the blending of the fae with the humans was well done.Detailed I Loved mild spoilers The magical story told through both the mural and the figurines was brilliant The disturbing prank with the car freaked me out, even as it was predictable And yet the reality behind the missing people was clever and a total surprise SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING BELOWWhat Confused Me I didn t completely get the ending It felt both rushed and too slow Somehow Levi Hogan is transported back in time, and then he relives his life after his quiet expulsion from the police force Except this time, the job posting in Bixbie is different, and the town itself is different, and most of the people who he met the first time are all actually dead Some are humans who are really dead, and the others are faerie who are only dead on Earth But a few of the humans who he met in the first Bixbie are real and totally unaware of the magic there, so he meets them again All of this is poorly explained The time travel is never explained The alternate realities are glossed over Who is really dead vs sorta dead vs human is not explained.
