In a nutshell: A billionaire with some issues. A mixologist with some moxie. The concoction she mixes up for him keeps him coming back, until she goes away. Her planned vacation runs into a serious snag, and he comes to her rescue.
My take: I adored this book. I love Anderson's smooth writing style, the flow and pacing of the story, and the chemistry between the protagonists. More than that, I greatly enjoyed how well the deeply flawed male lead was crafted. It is difficult to write a believable character with deep, lifelong issues. Anderson pulled it off with flying colors, and didn't erase those issues with the magic kiss cure that so many romances seem to use. The issues don't just evaporate; they are addressed with style and care.
This may be my new favorite by Sarah M. Anderson. If you enjoy romance, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

This book was so good...Dr Robert Wyatt broke my heart...He lived a hellacious childhood that he has carried over to adult hood. He goes to a bar and becomes close to Jeannie..She was like his physicatrist as she would listen and not push...He goes one time and she is gone when she is supposed to be there and all hell breaks loose. He is told what happened and where she is..He swoops in like a knight in shining armor to help Jeannie out as he needs her back at the bar..They start spending time together..He doesn't want to really talk or touch but Jeannie breaks through his barriers one at a time..and than on a crucial night she comes to his and his mothers aid to get her away from her abusive husband.. Robert has to wake up and see she is good to him and finally hopefully he does but you have to read to find out!

Sarah M. Anderson is at the top of her game with her brand new release! I've read a lot of category romance through the thirty plus years that I've been a romance reader, and this is by far the most tortured hero that I've ever had the pleasure of watching evolve in the short span of this size of book. To be able to take such an emotionally stunted man and redeem him this quickly and so well took a tremendous amount of talent. Kudos Ms. Anderson!

When a family issue leaves bartender Jeannie Kaufman having to take a few days away from Trenton's bar, she knows her favorite customer isn't going to be happy. She's the only one he wants to approach him, the only one who can make his drink correctly, the only one he talks to. Every weekday, at the exact same time of day, no exceptions.

Doctor Robert Wyatt needs Jeannie. When she doesn't return to the bar the night she promised him she would, he knows something must be wrong. He tracks her down and finds that she's unexpectedly been made the guardian of her brand new niece and sets out to help her when he sees how overwhelmed she is. It doesn't take long for their attraction to flare into more as they work side by side, but he has a dangerous secret past that she knows nothing about. Can he bring himself to be honest with her and open her up to the ugly sins of his family?

    3.5 Stars!

The combination of summer in Chicago, an almost orphaned infant, and a twosome that are total opposites, creates SEDUCTION ON HIS TERMS by Sarah M. Anderson. A heartbreaking beginning draws the reader into this complicated romance, with characters that are interesting, caring and distinctive. This book is from the Billionaires and Babies series and it can be read as a standalone.

Five evenings a week for the past few years, bartender Jeannie Kaufman has served a customized martini to billionaire Dr. Robert Wyatt. They have a unique friendship, which blossoms into much more when Jeannie finds herself raising her sister's newborn daughter. Robert is an extremely wealthy pediatric surgeon, despite a childhood in an abusive household. Jeannie is Robert's rock, and her emotional support is what keeps Robert sane. Robert is the love that Jeannie thought was never going to happen, and she is continually surprised by his romantic gestures.

I liked this book, however, the relationship between Jeannie and Robert was difficult to comprehend, especially at the beginning of the story. Jeannie understands Robert’s shortcomings and is able to help him fill in the emotional gaps he is missing. They are a unique pair, in and out of the bedroom. Overall, a solid read.

  5. Mary says:

Dark and brooding, Dr. Robert Wyatt, seems to have his life completely under control. #1 He's Chicago's top billionaire bachelor. #2 He saves lives every day as a pediatric surgeon. His life is orderly and, for the most part, emotionless.

Jeannie Kaufmann thought she finally had her life on track. She's a bartender with a goal of having her own bar someday. Her sister is having a baby, and she is planning on helping her as much as she can. She's intrigued by Dr. Wyatt, who frequently visits the bar, doesn't say much, and only wants her perfectly made Manhattan.

When Jeannie doesn't show up for work one day, all hell breaks loose! We see just how near Robert is to losing control and just how overwhelmed Jeannie is. Even though they are from two completely different worlds, they may be just what the other needs.

This was an intense story with an immediate attraction between Robert and Jeannie. Of course, it's romantic for Robert to play the white knight and want to fix everything in Jeannie's life, but I loved how Jeannie carefully brought Robert out of his shell and opened him up to love. There are some dark issues in Robert's past, and I thought there was a satisfying resolution to his family issues.

I'd rate this book 10 stars if I could! This was my first romance book by Sarah and certainly not my last. I was attracted by the cover with Robert's haunting eyes and sexy suit but now that I have read his and Jeannie's deeply emotional, unforgettable and unique love story, I am now even more affected by those haunting and wounded blue eyes.

This story had it all for me: two very strong characters who each had their own wounds to heal from, sweet tender moments, sexy and believable love scenes, unforgettable dialogue and a heroine who is strong and will not give up on her man in his time of need.

This story had so much going with it in 219 pages!! I highly recommend this story and I bet you won't be able to read it without shedding some tears like I did!

Thank you so much, Sarah, for writing it! You are my newest favourite romance author and I am excited to be reading more stories by you which I am sure will be unforgettable like this one!

This was a wonderful love-story which read like a fairy tale. I loved the boldness and daring side of Jeannie, the bartender, towards her billionaire. At first, reading the first chapters, it seemed she was like a damsel in distress, but that was her, grieving and beyond exhausted. Later on, a very daring and embracing life person had entered the story, challenging her billionaire and comforting him in the same time so he could open his heart. I loved this story in which goodness overwins all.
When bartender Jeannie Kaufman leaves her job to care for her infant niece, Dr. Robert Wyatt, her favourite customer, offers the help she so desperately needs. Yet as sparks fly, the gruff, gorgeous heir to a fortune still holds back. Does Robert think she’ll never fit in his high-powered world? Or is there danger lurking if they take their romance too far?

  8. Dj says:

“Tell me what’s wrong so I can fix it.” But on what terms? When (bartender) Jeannie Kaufman leaves her job to care for her infant niece Melissa, Dr. Robert Wyatt, her favorite customer, offers the help she so desperately needs, a nanny, maid, house repairs, and pediatric services. Yet as sparks fly, the gruff, gorgeous heir to a fortune still holds back. His abusive father has really done a number on him. Does Robert think she’ll never fit in his high-powered world? Or is there danger lurking if they take their romance too far?

lots of difficult subject matter handled well with intriguing stories; Well done!

  9. Lori Freehill says:

I loved it. Dr Robert Wyatt has a good heart who helps others when he can’t help his own mother. Enter Jeannie Kaufman a young woman trying reconcile with her family. For several years they have interacted with each other in the barest interactions. Robert has become dependent on Jeannie to be where he expects her to be; but when something goes wrong preventing her to be there he swoops into her rescue her.... but wait she needs to rescue Robert too. Sarah M Anderson has way to engage her readers and keep them guessing on whether the damsel will get her troubled hero & getting their HEA. I couldn’t put it down.

  10. N.M. Brott says:

This was a well-done billionaire romance because while the hero was a take-charge type of man, it never felt intimidating when he did things for the heroine. Overbearing men are my kryptonite and Dr. Robert Wyatt stops well short of being too pushy. The long-simmering attraction between bartender Jeannie Kaufman and her best customer changes in a lot of good ways when he steps in to help her out of a difficult situation. I really enjoyed the story and look forward to more from Ms. Anderson.
