Nowhere near as good as I remember it being when I was a teenager It has the potential to be a spooky ghost story and a decent murder mystery, but gets the tone wrong and is ultimately undone by the inability of the main characters to use any critical thinking skills or question if what they ve been told is what really happened I really can t stress enough how infuriating it is to spend 193 pages with kids who are this oblivious and slow on the uptake They literally never figure anything out Nowhere near as good as I remember it being when I was a teenager It has the potential to be a spooky ghost story and a decent murder mystery, but gets the tone wrong and is ultimately undone by the inability of the main characters to use any critical thinking skills or question if what they ve been told is what really happened I really can t stress enough how infuriating it is to spend 193 pages with kids who are this oblivious and slow on the uptake They literally never figure anything out themselves the villain has to spell it all out for them And what s with all the pseudo incest in these teen novels from the 90s For my full recap, visit www.ogwnostalgia.wordpress.com music

This had a decent plot and mystery I deducted 1 star from 4 because I thought the heroine, Marine was supper annoying Sometimes she came across as intelligent and at other times pretty stupid I guess that s how teenagers are, but I believe modern teenagers are a littlesavvy and less haphazard than those of the 90s yes, I can say that, I was a teenager for the latter half of the 90s.

Written in 1997 this book is strangely reminiscent to the plot line of the 1945 movie The Uninvited starring Ray Milland Maybe that is why so many people criticize it for being clich d It is a CLASSIC ghost story with light romance and a good mystery Thoroughly enjoyed and recommend for fans of classic haunted house stories No gore, no graphic scenes

I read this book so long ago, when I was around 12 or 13, and absolutely loved it Read it over many times as a teen, and then again once as an adult It s a good classic read for any child teen if you love ghost haunting, mystery, suspense, and just a touch of a teen crush romance, only a little I read this book so long ago, when I was around 12 or 13, and absolutely loved it Read it over many times as a teen, and then again once as an adult It s a good classic read for any child teen if you love ghost haunting, mystery, suspense, and just a touch of a teen crush romance, only a little
